KERRA, Mixed Medicinal Plant Extracts, Inhibits SARS-CoV-2 Targets Enzymes and Feline Coronavirus

The COVID-19 pandemic affects all parameters, especially healthcare professionals, drugs and medical supplies. KERRA is a mixed medicinal plant capsule that used for the treatment of patients with high fever, food drug administration approved by FDA Thailand. Recently, showed induced quicker recovery patients. Therefore, it possible some ingredients in could inhibit SARS-CoV-2. In this study, two important replication-related enzymes SARS-CoV-2, main protease an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), were to study effect KERRA. results inhibited SARS-CoV-2 RdRp IC50 values 49.91 ± 1.75 ng/mL 36.23 5.23 µg/mL, respectively. displayed no cytotoxic activity on macrophage cells at concentrations lower than 1 mg/mL exhibited anti-inflammatory activity. Additionally, was against feline coronavirus (feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)) infection EC50 value 134.3 μg/mL. This supports potential use as candidate COVID-19.
